Very interested in this. The local timeline is pretty important, while the federated timeline is almost useless. Please make the choice sticky.

And if you are in a single user instance Local is useless. So if there is the option to choose please make it sticky as single instance users are only going to use Home, Federated, Lists and subscribed Hashtag feeds.
